This hand is your hand…

Friday, February 12th, 2010

I will warn you in advance, it has been a long week already and this post may be a little on the random side.

I have talked about the Friends episode before where Joey finds his hand twin, and I still find that absolutely hilarious. If you haven’t seen it, I will embed the video so you can watch it. It cracks me up every time I watch it. I am not sure why, but it does.

Speaking of hand modeling, let me tell you why I like Megan Fox. By know I am sure you know that she has a club thumb. If you didn’t know before the Super Bowl, I am sure you do know. Every blog and their dog has been talking about how Motorola used a “hand double” for her in the Super Bowl ad for their new phone. I find that a little humorous myself, on a couple of different levels. I think it’s kind of interesting that so many people are so interested in her and her thumb that’s a little different. Every time something gets written about her or she is in the news, like this past week, my site traffic jumps because of searches for her and her thumb. Now I am not complaining a bit about that, anything that gets people here to check out my site is fine by me, I don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth. I just think it is kind of funny that people are so intrigued by that minor difference, when there are so many other people in the world with differences that don’t get nearly as much attention. I think in a perfect world they would have just used her, thumbs and all, just the way she is and no one would care about her thumb being a little different. We all know that we don’t live in a perfect world though, and so you get Super Bowl ads with thumb doubles and tons of people searching the web to see Megan Fox and her real thumbs. That’s why I like her though, she brings me traffic.

More than meets the eye

pic_0084I have a couple of friends that I like to frequent Tokyo’s with, but it had been a while since we were all able to go together. Last night was the midnight premier of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and what better way to kill some time before the movie than enjoying some sushi? I learned a while back that I liked the Eel Rolls (on the right in the picture), who would have thought? And you can never go wrong with an Alaskan Roll (on the left). I also had a really good baked Salmon Roll, but sadly, it did not last long enough for the picture. Oh well, maybe next time.

I told you before about my mad chopstick skills, right? I think I have made some progress in my venture to try something new. I am still not an expert chopstick user by any ones definition, but I manage to get the job done. I would go so far as to say I have even become less awkward, which if you know me you know how much that is saying. One of the things, for me anyway, that comes with trying new things like eating with chopsticks is an overwhelming feeling that people are watching . I think I get that feeling because a lot of times people are watching me. Most of the time I don’t pay a lot of attention to people, unless I notice someone watching me. It happens, I think its human nature to want to watch someone who is different and see how they do things. The first time I decided to try using chopsticks, I had this really weird feeling that everyone in the room was watching me to see if I would be able to do it or not. In reality, I don’t think anyone really even noticed. Most of the people I was with were really more into their own food, that watching to see if I would be able to get mine into my mouth without looking like a monkey on a cupcake. This feeling is almost completely gone away. I still have moments when I feel like someone is watching, but it’s getting better. Last night there was a waitress that kept hanging around at the end of the sushi bar where we were sitting. At one point I started watching her to see if she was watching me. It was late, and the place was pretty empty, and I think she was more bored than anything else. I had to remind myself that not everything is about me all the time. Shocker!

If you have about 3 hours to kill, and you like robot on robot violence, I would highly recommend going to see the new Transformers movie. Especially if you liked the first one and/or  liked the Transformers cartoon as a kid. I thought the movie was pretty awesome. It was very entertaining in an almost nostalgic kind of way. Plus, it was nice to see that Megan Fox’s club thumbs didnt affect her acting at all :)

About My blog
This is my way of sharing my day to day life with you. Check out the About Me section to read a little more about myself and my differences.

I started this blog as a way to organize my thoughts and get some ideas out of my head and onto paper so to speak. The goal is to eventually write a book about my life. Writing about things I go through on a daily basis as well as things I experienced growing up seemed like a logical starting point, and what better way to do that than starting a blog? The blog will mainly be a collection of stories from my life, as well as things that I go through on a daily basis. In typical blog style, the newest post will be on top so if you want to read in order you will have to start at the beginning. If you have any comments questions and/or feedback about the site, you can use my contact page to send me a message, I would love to hear from you.
